I’m happy for partikla86 to speak for me with what s/he said.

Are you saying that you prefer an online community where swearing and putting people down is okay? Either way, it is your conscience which you have to live with.

@LoveHeartLogicHead haha no I just don’t get the “We people” part. 😛

  6. #6 by LoveHeartLogicHead at March 20th, 2010

    Ah.. okay.

Well, what it is is a way of saying “Hey, take it easy. I am a person just like you are. Feel free to talk but there is no need to have a go at me”, that sort of thing. It may be a bit old fashioned but people still say it as “we people”. Its just about being decent.

Also, this seems to be a good video. If my understanding is correct, this solar panel is known as amorphous. The other type of PV panel is crystalline. I’m new at this so.. discussion encouraged.

  7. #7 by alicemudgarden123 at March 20th, 2010

@LoveHeartLogicHead Amorphous, Crystalline (Single and Multi) and Multi-Junction Devices. I just did a presentation on solar panels haha

  8. #8 by LoveHeartLogicHead at March 20th, 2010

    Ok.. cool.

Crystalline are also referred to as mono and poly. As in monocrystalline and polycrystalline.

This video is an explanation of amorphous. Correct me if I am wrong.

Multi-junction devices are what is used to connect cells/panels. This increases the system’s power as each new panel is added. Again, correct me if I’m wrong.

Where did you get your info by the way for your presentation?

  9. #9 by alicemudgarden123 at March 21st, 2010

I only did “Mono” and “poly” my partner did multi, and amorphous

Thanks Alice. Will most likely look at them later.

There is also concentrated solar power which focuses sunlight to heat water, create steam and turn an engine. To my knowledge, it doesn’t exist as a residential application. Err.. you know.. for houses. Most solar farms around the world though do it this way.

Yeah, go solar! The sun shines everywhere, there is no pollution and you don’t have to wait millions of years for the raw materials to be created 😀

I think I created the robot that narrated this. I’m a monster!!!!!!!!

I think a guy called 21danthony may have stolen this from you, or visa versa, or its just a coincedence.

@SoapWalrus you’ve done your homework. The user 21Danthony is actually the one that hired me to make this animation.

I converted my home to a net-zero solar powered home that uses no oil or gas….

This narrator did not get his coffee this morning. He sounds a little aggitated.
