    This is good idea to install it on the shack, that is what I am planning to do too.

    Id consider sticking a shingle piece underneath the shingle above the L Bracket and lap it over the bracket part on the roof just so water has a run off over the bracket rather then a place to pool and later run down the screw holes.
    Those shingles will expand and contract between winter and summer and maybe open up the screw holes just enough to be annoying.

    This video does not say how to build a solar panel. It says how to install one that is already built!

    If you did not notice, there are “Parts” to the whole video. So obviously at part 12 you would be looking close to the end of the video which involves mounting it to the roof. Try starting at “Part 1” if you want to see the process of making the solar panel itself.
